NTPC signs PPA with Gridco

 

 

NTPC signed Power Purchase Agreements with Grid Corporation of Orissa for sale of power from its proposed projects. These are located at Darlipali and Talcher Thermal Expansion in Orissa, Katwa in West Bengal and Pirpainti and Muzaffarpur Stage II in Bihar.

 


A separate PPA was signed for Farakka Stage III in West Bengal. The project is to be commissioned in the current fiscal. The 3200 MW Darlipali, 1320 MW Talcher Thermal Expansion, 1600 MW Katwa, 1320 MW Pirpaint, and the 500 MW Farakka Stage III are being developed by NTPC, while the 2X195 MW  Muzaffarpur Stage II is being implemented by subsidiary company of NTPC in JV with Bihar State Electricity Board.

 


Eastern Region states will be the beneficiaries of these projects.


The agreements were signed by V K Padha, General Manager, and D Bhattacharya, Chief Executive Officer of Kanti Bijli Utpadan Nigam Ltd (KBUNL), a joint venture between NTPC and Bihar State Electricity Board and A C Mallick, Director, Gridco.
