Truong Sa-the first district to use clean energy

All households in Truong Sa District can now use electricity 24 hours a day.

All the electric energy used in this island district is produced from wind power and solar energy making it the first district in the country to use clean energy sources.

Such an achievement is owing to the National Oil and Gas Corporation of Vietnam who in 2008 began funding a project of developing renewable energy and lighting systems in Truong Sa District. The wind and solar energy systems are now complete and have been put into operation.
