2 Heimifeng units pass safety assessment

Units 1 and 2 of Heimifeng Pumped Storage Power Plant passed the synchronisation safety assessment of the NERC. The plant met the 21 requirements according to the document issued by the Changsha Electricity Regulatory Bureau of National Electricity Regulatory Commission.

Heimifeng shoulders the responsibility of peak and valley load, frequency and phase regulation and accident standby in Hunan. It is the only pumped storage power plant built by an energy development enterprise and the first of its kind in the province.

This is the first time for Changsha Electricity Regulatory Bureau to carry out synchronisation safety assessment of two large-capacity pumped storage units simultaneously. The next step for the power plant is to rectify problems discovered in the inspection, consolidate basic work of production safety, improve testing, and enhance equipment management to ensure the safe and stable operation of Unit 1&2.

The fact that Unit 1&2 of Heimifeng Pumped Storage Power Plant passed the synchronisation safety assessment paved the way for its commercial operation.
