Madhya Pradesh MW super critical TPP on speedy development route

 Unit-1 of the 2x660 MW super critical coal based plant in the state of Madhya Pradesh has made substantial progress towards achieving its major milestones.

 

The super critical plant has obtained its environment clearance from the Ministry of Environment and Forests for one unit, subject to certain conditions.

Further, out of a total requirement of 5.9 MTPA, the TPP has already identified coal linkage worth 2.1048 MTPA, from the Coal India subsidiary- Northern Coalfields Limited.

But while the Dainik Bhaskar Group company had signed an M.O.U. with Chhattisgarh Government in January 2008 for setting set up coal based thermal power plant project of 1200 MW, at an estimated cost of  Rs 6238.0 crore. However, the said clearance has been awarded only for one unit of the said plant, i.e. 1x660 MW.
