Reliance lights up boiler for second Indian thermal power unit

Reliance Power achieved the Boiler light up for the second of two units of its 600 MW Butibori Thermal Power Project in Maharashtra. Power generated from the plant will help reduce demand supply

The light up was been done in 22 months from start of boiler erection, according to Reliance Power.

The company expects the second unit to be commissioned by the end of the year.

The investment of over Rs 3,600 crore in the Butibori plant represents one of the biggest investments in Maharashtra.

The plant is among the compact sized thermal plants in the country with its 600 MW capacity requiring no more than 275 acres of plant land.
