China approves over 100 wind power projects

China's wind power companies can look forward to over 100 new wind power projects.

These will be spread over 16 provincial-level regions in central and east China, including Shanxi, Zhejiang, Fujian, Shandong, Hubei and Hunan, Wednesday's China Securities Journal reported.

Many Chinese wind farms are sitting idle as connection to the country's power grid has lagged behind the speed of the sector's expansion.

With grid connection issues already settled, industry analysts are saying that wind power developers and equipment suppliers will benefit.
