Tokyo Gas unit commissions Ichigai Solar Power Plant

The mega-solar power plant has a 21.9 MW capacity.

Tokyo Gas's wholly-owned subsidiary Prominet Power started the operations of the mega-solar power plant it built in Tochigi Prefecture with a total capacity of 21.9 megawatts.

In a statement, Tokyo Gas said the Ichigai Solar Power Plant which spans around 47 hectares is the first mega-solar power plant in Japan the Group was involved from design to construction.

The Tokyo Gas Group aims to achieve six gigawatts of renewable energy capacity in Japan and overseas in 2030.

The company also aims to partner with other businesses to push for the development of other renewable energy sources.
