Australia launches second round of Hydrogen Headstart programme

Up to $2b will be provided for large-scale renewable hydrogen projects.

The Australian government has opened round two of the Hydrogen Headstart programme.

This initiative, administered by the Australian Renewable Energy Agency, will provide up to $2b in revenue support for large-scale renewable hydrogen projects.

“There will be additional focus on supporting projects that target high-priority use cases. ARENA is calling for projects that aim to reduce the cost of renewable hydrogen production,” the government said.

Expressions of Interest will be open until 9 December 2025.
