Windey Energy clinches win at Asian Power Awards 2025 for overseas wind energy projects

It has delivered clean and reliable power to regions across the globe through its overseas projects.

Renewable energy service provider Windey Energy was honoured with the Wind Power Project of the Year - China distinction at the prestigious Asian Power Awards 2025 for its success in advancing global wind energy through several overseas projects.

Amongst these projects is the Trung Nam Wind Farm in Ninh Thuận Province in Vietnam, which has marked a new era of China-Vietnam clean energy cooperation. The company has triumphed in building high-performance turbines that now power multiple Vietnamese projects despite cross-border logistics and complex terrain, showcasing its engineering excellence and service reliability.

In Astana’s icy outskirts, Windey Energy has also completed the Borey and ET Projects — Kazakhstan’s largest onshore wind farm. With 30 large-capacity turbines operating in extreme conditions down to -38°C, the site generates over 600 million kWh of clean electricity annually, saving 190,000 tons of coal and cutting 480,000 tons of CO2 emissions.

Beyond its environmental impact, the project has become a model of Sino-Kazakh cooperation in renewable energy.

The company has also entered the European market by winning the Alibunar Wind Farm — Serbia’s first wind project powered by Chinese turbines. Successfully selected over numerous global competitors, it has demonstrated both technical strength and supply reliability.

This project has deepened collaboration between Chinese and Serbian enterprises and has laid the foundation for future ventures, including the 852.8 MW Maestrale Ring that is poised to become Europe’s largest onshore wind project.

Since their inception, Windey Energy’s turbines have now been deployed across Southeast Asia, Central Asia, Middle East and North Africa, Eastern Europe, and South America. In 2023 alone, the company has secured 130 MW in new international orders, placing it amongst China’s top three wind turbine exporters by volume.
