Masdar and RWE win UK approval for 3-GW wind project

They will develop two Dogger Bank South offshore wind farms.

Abu Dhabi Future Energy Company PJSC – Masdar and RWE have welcomed the decision of the United Kingdom’s Energy Secretary’s legal authority to approve the Development Consent Order for the two Dogger Bank South (DBS) offshore wind farms.

The proposed wind farms are expected to have a combined installed capacity of 3 gigawatts (GW) and can power approximately three million homes annually.

In January, the projects secured Contracts for Difference with the UK Government through the Allocation Round 7.

Masdar and RWE will now conduct final design work and progress procurement decisions to take a final investment decision in 2027.
