Shanghai new energy industry up 30% in 2010

 

Shanghai’s new energy industrial output value will have grown 30 percent year-on-year in 2010.

 


According to estimates of the Shanghai government, industrial output in the solar energy sector will have jumped 62.5 percent year-on-year to 13 billion yuan, while smart power grid output will have climbed 25 percent to US$3.75 billion.


Growth in output value of nuclear power is 20 percent, while the figure for wind power is roughly 10 percent.


Shanghai has total solar cell and component capacity of over 1.7 gigawatts, up 150 percent year-on-year.


The output value of high-voltage power transmission equipment for smart substation systems is roughly US$2.25 billion.
