China’s power consumption up 14.6% in 2010

Power consumption in China totaled 4.19 trillion kilowatt hours in 2010. It represents aan increase of 14.56 percent year-on-year.



Of the total, the secondary industry accounted for power consumption of 3.13 trillion kWh in 2010, up 15.41 percent year-on-year.

The primary industry recorded a 4.68 percent year-on-year increase in power consumption to 98.4 billion kWh while the power consumption of the tertiary industry rose 14.02 percent year-on-year to 449.7 billion kilowatt kWh.

China completed investments of 705.1 billion yuan on the power generation industry in 2010, down 8.45 percent year-on-year.
