China installs CB20 module for Haiyang nuclear unit 3
This marks the completion of all module installations.
China has successfully installed the CB20 module for the 3rd unit of the Haiyang Nuclear Power Plant in Haiyang, east China's Shandong Province.
“The CB20 module was successfully lifted and positioned, marking the completion of all major module installations for the 3rd unit of the Haiyang Nuclear Power Plant and the start of the equipment installation and commissioning phase,” the government said.
According to reports, the newly-installed module can store more than 3,000 tonnes of water to help cool the reactor or be directed to the reactor’s used fuel pool.
