Voith to modernize hydropower plants in China

Voith has won the contract to revamp the San Men Xia hydropower plant.

This will cover two 50MW turbines, related components and automation elements.

Voith has already started a research project, in cooperation with its Chinese customer, to cut down erosion dueto strong abrasion by the sands of Yellow River.

"As an additional important mainstay, the growing modernisation business complements the existing activitiesregarding new constructions," said Voith Hydro Holding president and CEO Dr Roland Münch.
