Electricity works progress in Vietnam amid money tightening

Electricity of Vietnam is anticipating many other developments in the electricity sector after it puts Unit number 5 of the Son La Hydropower Plant intooperation.

It will continue to test Unit no. 1 and prepare for its complete installation. It will also test generator rotor of Unit 2 for Dong Nai 4 Hydropower Plant; generator Unit 2 of Kanak Hydropower and simultaneously focus to ensure the progress of relevant constructions in order to implement phase 1 of damming of Lai Chau hydropower.

It also seeks to resolve the waterproof processing of Song Tranh Hydropower 2.

EVN also expects to complete the construction of 220 kV stations in Binh Tan and Dong Ha; increase the capacity of 220kV Lao Cai station, upgrade lift load capacity of 220kV Hoa Binh-Xuan Mai; replace 110kV wire for Van Dien-Tia.

In 2012, since the Government continued with policies to control inflation and monetary tightening, investment capital mobilization for EVN power projects have faced many difficulties.

However, due to firm direction, direct examination and decisive handling of problems at the construction site, three months into 2012, NPT has put into operation two units with a capacity of 176.5 MW, including Unit 1 of Dong Nai’s hydropower plant and Hydropower Kanak’s Unit 1.
