Full load at unit 2 of Bellary thermal project to be delayed
Delays at the turbine generator box up works at the unit-2 of Bellary stage 2 thermal power project will likely push back the full load achievement by another 4 months.
The project, being executed by the Karnataka Power Transmission Corporation Limited was initially envisaged to achieve full load generation in August 2011.
While the Turbine generator has been erected, non completion of box up works have held up the project, even as TG on barring gear is likely to be complete by the end of next month.
Further, oil synchronization works are also likely to be completed by this month, a delay of roughly 15 months over that initially envisaged by the power utility.
The Bellary Thermal Power Stationis located at Kudatini, Bellary District of Karnataka and is a venture is a venture of Karnataka Power Corporation Limited (KPCL). The power station will be developed in two stages of 500 MW each.
