It will provide approximately 94,000MWh of electricity per year to 31,000 households.
Scaterc Solar’s 66MW direct current (DC) solar power plant in Malaysia has been connected to the national grid, an announcement revealed.
The Merchang plant, said to be the firm’s first large-scale solar project in the region, is expected to provide about 94,000MWh of electricity per year. The clean energy produced by the plant will reportedly contribute to avoid 70,000 tonnes of carbon emissions per year, and provide more than 31,000 households with electricity.
Following the grid connection of the Merchang plant, Scaterc Solar now has a total capacity of 911MW in operation, of which 197MW are in Malaysia. Another 993MW are said to be under construction.
