NSPCL eyes speedy coal allocation for upcoming power plants
NTPC-SAIL Power Company Limited has requested the Ministry of Power to place its new power projects nder the central public sector undertaking category in order to fast track the allocation of coal linkage.
The projects have a having cumulative capacity of 1,750 MW.
To substantiate its demand, NSPCL has clarified to MoP that it qualifies as a CPSU, with both NTPC and SAIL having equity participation on 50:50 basis. Furthermore, NSPCL's existing 500 MW Bhilai expansion power station is a central generating station which has been operating and supplying power to central utilities, such as SAIL, as well as other states and union territories at the tariff determined by CERC.
With a deadline to commission the 3 generating capacities during the 12th plan, NSPCL has already forwarded its coal linkage requirement to the Ministry of Coal.
