Pemanek to build production lines for Indian JV
Pemamek will design, construct and deliver a PEMA membrane wall panel line and four PEMA tube prefabrication lines for TBWES.
A Thermax - Babcock & Wilcox joint venture in India, TBWES manufactures supercritical boilers in its new facility in Pune, India, with present annual production capacity of 3,000MW equivalent. The agreement consists of two purchase orders. All lines will be delivered in October 2011.
The first order covers a PEMA 2 x 3000/6 panel welding line with a capacity to weld 25m long and max 3m wide membrane wall panels with 12 sets of Lincoln Electric PowerWave AC/DC 1000 A SD submerged arc welding equipment. The line includes complete panel transportation tracks, a fin-bar calibrating line, an automatic tube and fin-bar feeding system to the panel line, and buffer stores for sub-panels. The panel transportation track is able to perform all panel handling tasks: it includes in- and out-feeding roller conveyors for two welding machines, cross-transport conveyors for panel sideways movement, and hydraulic flip-over arms for turning the panels.
The order for the tube prefabrication lines consists of three PEMA automatic tube cutting, end-bevelling and end-buffing lines with integrated conveyors. Furthermore, the order includes a PEMA automatic end-bevelling and end-buffing line which is similar to the prefabrication lines but excludes the cutting saw.
