Son La plant’s final generator to operate soon

Son La hydropower plant will increase its capacity to 2,400MW when it final generator starts service on September 20.

It will supply over 10 billion kWh of power to the national grid each year.

Pham Hong Phuong, deputy head of the Son La hydropower plant management unit, said after the sixth and last generator of the plant started operation, the contractors would complete the final stage of the project to inaugurate the entire plant in December this year.

Son La hydropower plant is developed on the Da River’s hydropower ladder by Vietnam Electricity Group.
