India issues nearly 4.5 GW of RE tenders in January

Meanwhile, 4.4 GW of renewables were allocated to different developers.

Renewable energy tenders issued in India reached 4,419 megawatts (MW) in January 2025, according to JMK Research & Analytics.

In its latest report, JMK said NTPC issued the largest bid for 1,200 MW of ISTS-connected solar power projects with 600 MW / 2,400 megawatt-hours (600 MW x 4 hours) energy storage system anywhere in India.

It was followed by Rajasthan Renewable Energy Corporation Ltd with its tender for 511 MW of rooftop solar, and Haryana Power Purchase Centre for 500 MW of solar project.

Last month, JMK said there were 4,426 MW of renewable energy capacity allocated to various developers. These include NTPC REL that bagged 1,000 MW from UPPCL’s 2,000 MW solar tender.
