Korean consortium to build transmission lines for Kazakhstan

A Korean consortium will build power transmission lines 327km of 220kV lines to a hydropower plant in Kazakhstan.

 

The deal is worth US$ 46 million.

The consortium, composed of Korea Electric Power Corporation, Hyundai Corporation and Hyundai Engineering, signed the deqal with Kazakhstan Electricity Grid Operating Company.

The plant is expected to be completed by October 2011.

With the order, KEPCO will be able to strengthen its presence as an engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) provider in Kazakhstan's power market.
