Mingyang’s 16.6 MW floating wind turbines commence operation

This will benefit 30,000 homes.

Mingyang has announced that OceanX, the world's largest single capacity floating wind power platform, has commenced operations at the Yangjiang Qingzhou IV offshore wind farm in Guangdong, China.

According to Mingyang, the platform features two 8.3 megawatts (MW) offshore wind turbines with a combined capacity of 16.6 MW.

The turbines are 219 metres high and are spanning 369 metres in width, displacing 15,000 tonnes of water. These have counter-rotating blades that increase power generation by 4.29%.

Mingyang’s Yangjiang Qingzhou IV offshore wind farm is expected to power 30,000 homes annually.
