MTerra Solar hits grid synchronisation milestone, powering Luzon grid
MTerra Solar will have 250 megawatts alternating current of solar capacity.
Meralco PowerGen Corporation (MGEN), through its affiliate Terra Solar Philippines Inc. (MTerra Solar), has completed the initial grid synchronisation and energisation of the MTerra Solar project.
Following this, MTerra Solar will have 250 megawatts alternating current of solar capacity and 112.5 megawatt-hour of battery energy storage capacity.
“This power plant alone, once completed, will be producing power for 10% of Luzon,” Philippine Department of Energy Secretary Sharon Garin said.
