NTPC commissions 1st part capacity of 162.27MW solar project in Tamil Nadu
This is out of the total 230MW capacity.
India’s NTPC on 10 December announced the commissioning of the first part capacity of 162.27 megawatts (MW) of the 230MW Ettayapuram solar power project in the state of Tamil Nadu in India.
In a statement, NTPC said the remaining 67.73MW will be operational within the week.
The company said the plant stands over around 900 acres of land and uses about 10.5 lakh solar panels. This brings the total commercial operation of solar capacity in the Southern Region to 644.27MW.

NTPC added that the power generated from Ettayapuram is transferred to PGCIL’s Tuticorin-II, GIS Substation through a 19 km long, 230kV Transmission Line and is supplied to Telangana Discoms.
The commissioning of the first part capacity brings NTPC’s installed and commercial capacity to 57801.27MW, and the group’s capacity to 70,416.27MW.
