Tata Power unit switches on India’s largest solar-BESS project

The project is worth around $114m.

Tata Power Solar Systems started the operations of a 100-megawatt (MW) solar photovoltaic project coupled with a 120 MW-hour utility-scale battery energy storage system (BESS), the largest of its kind in India.

In a statement, Tata Power said the project is expected to generate around 243.53 million units of energy annually and cut a carbon footprint of 4.87 million tonnes in 25 years.

The company secured the $114m (INR945 crore) project from the Solar Energy Corporation of India (SECI) in December 2021 on an engineering, procurement and construction basis.
