Lack of manpower, transport option stymie BHEL

 

The timely provision of equipment to the project sites is hampering BHEL's on time commissioning of power projects.

 

Bharat Heavy Electrical has long been the target of censure from various quarters with respect to its frequent inability to fulfill its supply commitments.

Currently, the developer has to strengthen all connecting bridges, which eats up a lot of time.

There are need for clearances from the National Highway Authority of India for consignments requiring use of National Highways. Unlike Railways, NHAI has not agreed to a "Single Window` concept. Procedural delays due to the above leads to considerable wastage of time.

On the other hand, for items required to be imported from abroad, a no objection certificate is required from TRANSCHART, for hiring vessels other than from Shipping Corporation of India Limited.
