Zhenjiang Energy Deqing Data Center to pwer China Unicom’s data center

It is estimated  to generate 225 million kilowatt per hour of electricity.

The Zhenjiang Energy Deqing Data Center CCHP Project will power China Unicom’s Deqing Cloud Data Center.

It adopts natural gas CCHP technology to supply energy to the data center, which pioneers the use of distributed natural gas energy in large data centers of Chinese telecom operators, and is also a typical distributed natural gas energy project with the largest installed capacity in the Chinese data center industry.

The core generating facilities of the project are 7 units of MWM TCG 2032 V16 natural gas gensets. The total output of the project is: Electricity: 2.99x104kW; Refrigeration: 7.35x104kW.

The project is designed with the principle of "determining power generation capacity based on cold demand". MWM nature gas gensets are operating with an on-grid parallel model. The high temperature exhaust gas and jacket water from gas gensets enter into the absorption chillers to produce the cooling water. Meanwhile, a cooling water storage tank operates online in real time as the redundant configuration of the cooling water system. The whole energy system can fulfill the highly reliable and continuous power and cooling demands of the data center.

When operating at full capacity, this project will generate 225 million kWh of electricity and provide 228 million kWh of cooling capacity annually with a remarkable amount of energy saving and greatly emissions reduction, which is an important demonstration of a clean, low-carbon, safe and high-efficient smart energy system.

Global clean energy tech market to hit $2t by 2035
This is fuelled by investments as countries aim to enhance energy security. The global clean energy technology market is projected to grow from $700b in 2023 to over $2t by 2035, nearing the scale of the crude oil market, according to the International Energy Agency (IEA).This growth is fuelled by significant investments in clean technology manufacturing as countries aim to enhance energy security, maintain economic competitiveness, and cut emissions. Investment is concentrated in regions with established positions in clean energy, particularly China, the European Union, the UK, and increasingly, India.Whilst the US, EU, and India have taken measures to support their clean energy sectors, China is expected to remain the world's manufacturing hub. By 2035, China's clean technology exports are forecasted to exceed $340b—comparable to projected oil export revenues from Saudi Arabia and the UAE.Southeast Asia, Latin America, and Africa contribute less than 5% of global cleantech production value, yet the IEA suggests that these areas still hold opportunities within the clean energy economy. Developing economies, for instance, could leverage competitive advantages to advance in the value chain beyond resource extraction. The IEA said Southeast Asia could become one of the most cost-effective regions for producing polysilicon and wafers for solar panels over the next decade.
