China leads world PV cell production

 

 

China may become the global leader in photovoltaic cell production in 2010 with a total of eight gigawatts.



According to Zhao Yuwen, vice chairman of China Renewable Energy Society, China’s photovoltaic production will amount to 50 percent of the total photovoltaic cell production worldwide in 2010.



The photovoltaic industry research institute, Solarbuzz stated that 2011 investment in polysilicon equipment may hit US$983 million, which is essential equipment to the production of photovoltaic cells.
