Canadian-Chinese partnership completes 10MW solar project in China
A 10MW ground-mounted solar project in north west China has been constructed and connected to the grid.
This was a project of a partnership between Canadian Solar and Ningxia Electric.
The project - delivered through an engineering, procurement and construction basis - is part of a 50MW solar plant located in Hongsibao, Ningxia. This 10MW project consists of an 8MW fixed system and a 2MW tracking system. The development is expected to generate 13.5 million kWh and will reduce CO2 emissions by 18,900 tonnes a year, the equivalent of saving 5,200 tonnes of coal.
Construction and funding for the project has been provided by Ningxia Power Group, with Canadian Solar's JV Gaochuangte New Energy serving as the EPC contractor. Yingkuan Liu , chairman of the Ningxia Power Group, said this is the first step of a strategic collaboration between Canadian Solar and Ningxia Power Group.
