CLP China starts operations of two renewable energy plants

Meanwhile, other projects are either underway or in progress.

CLP China (CLP) has commissioned its two renewable energy projects early this year as it aims to double its renewable energy portfolio in the Mainland.

In a statement, CLP said one of the projects launched was the 150-megawatt (MW) Bobai Wind Farm. This is its first renewable energy project in Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region and its largest wind farm in the Mainland in terms of installed capacity.

Another project launched was the 90-MW Yixing Phase I Solar Power Station in Jiangsu also, marking CLP's fifth renewable energy project in the province.

For CLP's other projects, groundbreaking ceremonies have been conducted for Juancheng Wind Farm in Shandong, Hepu Solar Power Station in Guangxi, and Yixing Phase II Solar Power Station in Jiangsu. Meanwhile, the 100MW Sandu Phase II Wind Farm in Guizhou connected its first 6.25 MW wind turbine generator to the grid. This is expected to be completed by the third quarter of 2025 with the full capacity reaching 199  MW.

The company said its first standalone battery energy storage project in Guanxian, Shandong is on track to be completed by the middle of this year to provide storage capacity for Guanxian Wind Farm which is also under construction.
