NNSA approves Haiyang nuclear site

Unit 2 of Shandong Haiyang NPP Phase 1 nuclear island excavation passed the site acceptance inspection conducted by the NNSA.

After two days of inspection, the National Nuclear Security Administration expert team came to the conclusion that the foundation pit excavation satisfies the requirements set in laws, regulations and design, and the bedrock surface of Unit 2 nuclear island is clean and effectively protected with good construction quality.

It indicates that Shandong Haiyang NPP Unit 2 nuclear island has entered preparation stage for civil works.

Shandong Haiyang's Unit 1 nuclear island excavation also passed the site acceptance inspection conducted by NNSA on 21 February 2009.
