China's 1,087MW Fuqing-4 gets plugged in to the grid

It's the 37th Chinese operational power reactor.

China National Nuclear Corporation (CNNC) has announced that the 1,087 MW Fuqing-4 nuclear power plant in the Fujian province of China is now connected to the domestic grid, after having reached first criticality in July 2017 and fuel loading in June 2017, according to Enerdata.

The Fuqing-4 CPR-1000 becomes the 37th Chinese operational power reactor. It will undergo other tests and is expected to enter commercial operation later in 2017.

The Fuqing site will accommodate six reactors, of which four 1,087 MWe CPR-1000 units. The first one was commissioned in November 2014, the second unit in October 2015 and the third one in October 2016. In April 2015, the National Development and Reform Commission of China gave its final approval for the construction of Fuqing-5 and Fuqing-6, which are expected to be commissioned in 2019 and 2020, respectively.

The Fuqing nuclear power plant project is owned by China Nuclear Power Company (51%), Huadian Fuxin Energy Company (39%) and Fujian Investment and Development Group (10%).
