REDC breaks ground on 25 MW Pulangi IV hydropower in Mindanao
The 25 MW Pulangi IV project will harness the Pulangi River's downstream portion.
Repower Energy Development Corporation’s (REDC) unit has broken ground for its 25 megawatt Pulangi IV Hydropower Project in Mindanao.
In a bourse filing, the company said its subsidiary Maramag Hydropower Corporation held a groundbreaking ceremony for its PHP 6.3b project.
The Pulangi IV project is a run-of-river hydropower development that will harness the downstream portion of the Pulangi River, which also powers REDC’s recently commissioned upstream Pulangi plant facility located at the border of the city of Valencia and San Fernando.
Once operational, this hydropower facility will bolster Mindanao’s renewable energy capacity whilst providing stable and sustainable power to surrounding communities.
