Construction of Xiangbiling hydropower project officially starts


The inauguration ceremony of Xiangbiling Hydropower Project was recently held in Weining County, Bijie of Guizhou, to offically start the construction phase.

 

This is the  largest hydropower project of CPI Jinyuan Group in Guizhou Province.

Located along the Niulan River on the border of Weining, Guizhou and Huize, Yunnan, the Xiangbiling Hydropower Station is on the 3rd stage of the cascade development plan with an installed capacity of 240MW. Designed with the average poweroutput of 930GWh and a total cost of RMB2.45 billion, the project was approved by Guizhou and Yunnan Development and Reform Commission in December 2010. As the construction started in June 2011, riverbed cutoff is planned at the end of 2012.

The first unit will begin producing electricity by the end of May 2015 and all units by the end of that year.
